Not everything can be disposed of in an ordinary bin. This is why Engels has developed a range of ADR/UN certified products for the transport and storage of hazardous waste. These containers have been tested by the Belgian Institute for testing of packaging and have been awarded the necessary certifications for danger categories 1, 2 and 3

UN certified transport containers for safe transport in accordance with ADRR

ADR/UN boxes and containers are made with reinforced locks and hinges to ensure they are durable and hard-wearing. For the past years we have been the main supplier of SITA Suez in France, supplying hundreds of UN certified plastic pallet boxes to their Labo Service subsidiary.

The standard design or customised.

The chemical industry in the Netherlands and Belgium is not as extensive as in France. This means the standard designs in these countries have a larger variety of versions. Especially for the recycling and waste processing industry we have adapted the standard UN certified pallet box into a pallet box that meets the customer specific requirements, while retaining its sturdy construction for a ADR/UN guarantee. Engels supplies these boxes to the Utrecht town council, among others. The Utrecht town council considers the pallet box to be a very good replacement of or addition to the metal pallet boxes. Our contact explained the advantages to us Plastic material superior to steel

  • The plastic material of the pallet boxes makes them lighter than the metal boxes, which means more boxes can be loaded and transported. Also from a health and safety aspect point of view the handling of the pallet box when empty is much safer for employees.
  • The plastic materials make it a more user-friendly product; this is not only the case for employees, but also for the floor of the vehicles and the storage spaces of the pallet boxes. Plastic gliders do not leave any scratches. Also plastic is easy to repair.
  • After 5 years each UN certified box must be retested. The majority of the steel pallet boxes will not pass this test, but nonetheless they are still tested. Plastic pallet boxes cannot be used as UN certified boxes after 5 years, but contrary to metal boxes they can still be used for other types of collection.
  • This means that plastic pallet boxes have a longer life cycle and cost less.

The Utrecht town council is very satisfied with their plastic pallet boxes and wonders why other colleagues are not changing to plastic. Would you like more information? Our sales assistants are happy to help.
